Ángel José López Ramos
His story

The teacher
- 01

The teacher
Ángel was born into the Shipibo Conibo people and trained as a primary-school teacher, devoting years of his life to education.
- 02

The illness
There was a time when he was very unwell, mentally and physically. Then his mother, the healer Ida Ramos Huayta, reached out and healed him with the plants.
- 03

The calling
That experience transformed him at the root. He left everything behind to devote himself to his people's ancestral knowledge, guided by his mother and his brother Roger López Ramos, both plant healers.
- 04

The diets
Years of diets with Amazonian medicinal plants followed. He has dieted more than 100 plants, at times taking 17 simultaneously in his daily diet: a feat very few healers achieve.
- 05

The healer
Today he is a guide and plant-medicine healer for people from all over the world who come to Sanin Mai seeking relief, clarity and genuine transformation.
What dieting a plant means
In the Shipibo tradition, dieting a plant means withdrawing, keeping silence, following strict food restrictions and entering into communion with the spirit of that plant in order to learn from it.
